Elephant Nature Park
The open preserve called Elephant Nature Park rescues endangered Asian Elephants with the goal of repopulating the species. I volunteered at this sanctuary in Chang Mai, Thailand. Each elephant living in the park has been "purchased" from an owner, after a life of abuse entertaining tourists or logging or was found near death. Enduring centuries of suffering pain and abuse, they are now near extinction with only 30,000 left on earth. This pro bono awareness campaign puts near extinction into perspective. Called "Greater Than," the campaign compares the number of elephants remaining with everyday things we take for granted to make it real and relatable.
